~ What are Sachet Beads? ~
Sachet Beads are tiny clear beads that we soak in your favorite fragrance oil! Once they are dry, our highly scented Sachet Beads are placed in a 3" x 4" organza bag, then packaged in a cute little sack (which is made of heavy card stock - not plastic!) and then tied off with wraphia ribbon ~ ready for gift giving! They also make great wedding, shower & party favors! Sachet Beads have the scent of a candle or incense without the danger of a flame. To get the most aroma from our Sachet Beads, they should be used in a closed environment; like drawers (desk or lingerie!), lockers, gym bag, shoes/boots/slippers, luggage, linen closets, diaper bag/pail, purse, etc.

Hair Conditioner using Conditioning Emulsifier

Ingredients needed:
Distilled Water

Conditioning Emulsifier
Rice Bran Oil
Clear Jojoba Oil (or Golden)
Dimethicone
Liquid Silk
Liquid Germall Plus
Fragrance Oil ~ Lemon Zinger
Water based colorant - yellow (optional)

Equipment needed:
Tea Kettle (to sterilize distilled water)
16 oz Pyrex Cup
9 oz clear SOLO cup
3 oz clear SOLO cup
2 oz Glass shotglass
Spatula
Electric hand mixer w/wire whisk attachment
Thermometer
Funnel or Sandwich size Ziploc bag
Small size SS pot (to melt Phase B)
Small glass mixing bowl (I didn't use this!)
Scale
Pipette
Vinyl gloves
Container(s) for Hair Conditioner

Formula in GRAMS:

Phase A:
413 Distilled Water

Phase B:
30 Conditioning Emulsifier
10 Rice Bran Oil
10 Clear Jojoba Oil

(Use 9 oz SOLO cup to weigh out ingredients - melt in small SS pot)

Phase C:
25 Dimethicone
5 Liquid Silk

(Use 3 oz SOLO cup to weigh out & store ingredients)

Phase D:
2 Liquid Germall Plus (preservative)
5 Lemon Zinger Fragrance Oil
1 drop Lemon Yellow

(Use 2 oz GLASS shotglass to weigh out & store ingredients)

Steps:
Boil distilled water for 10 minutes to sterilize distilled water.
Pour and weigh hot water into the Pyrex cup.
Using the small SS pot, melt Phase B gently.
Pour Phase A to Phase B in SS pot. (I opted not to use the glass bowl since this was such a small batch - too many dishes!  What can I say?!)  Stir together, then use the electric hand mixer w/wire whisk until fluffy.
Wait until temperature is below 122*, then add Phase C ingredients to bowl. Use electric hand mixer again. Make sure you use your spatula to scrape the sides of the bowl while mixing.
When you are sure the temperature is 100* or below, then add Phase D ingredients. Use the electric hand mixer again until you see the color evenly distributed. Use your spatula again to scrape the sides of the pot. Pour the Hair Conditioner into your container using a funnel. Or pour the Hair Conditioner into a sandwich size Ziploc, snip a tiny corner from the bottom of the Ziploc and squeeze the Hair Conditioner into your container.
Do not cap until Hair Conditioner is cool. This Formula makes approximately 500 grams (17.64 oz). Since this Hair Conditioner is for me, I used an empty (and clean!) 16 oz oil bottle with a flip-top cap.  I poured the remaining Hair Conditioner into a 4 oz bottle with a disc cap.

Here are the percentages for this formula, in case you want to make a smaller or larger batch:
82.60% Distilled Water
6.00% Conditioning Emulsifier
2.00% Rice Bran Oil
2.00% Clear Jojoba Oil
5.00% Dimethicone
1.00% Liquid Silk
.40% Liquid Germall Plus
1.00% Fragrance Oil
___drop(s) water based liquid colorant (optional)

Let me know if you like this Hair Conditioner! I have extremely long hair (and color treated) which is very hard to comb out with just shampoo. I believe the Conditioning Emulsifier and Dimethicone account for the easy comb out, shine and managability!

Enjoy ;o)
